Last Soccer Game

Jadon had his last of 6 soccer games tonight.  It may be his last for a very long time.  Brian and I are eager parents that want to provide our kids with lots of stimulating experiences, but we are learning that some things can wait...like organized sports.  Jadon was a reluctant participant who would rather run around and play freely than get in line, do drills, and join an intimidating game.  Brian finally succeeded in getting Jadon to participate in the last 2 games by running out there with the team, getting Jadon to pretend he was a race car chasing the ball, and rewarding him each time he kicked the ball with a big throw in the air.  That is a lot of work.  However, I am proud of Jadon for getting in the game and, as you can see from his red face, getting some good exercise.  I think in another year or two this would have been a great experience.

Good for you for recognizing that he might not be ready quite yet! I've been meaning to sign Sam up for an organized sport. I have no idea if he'll participate or not, but that's part of the whole experience right? And that red little face? A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!!!

Your pictures from your trip to Boston were great by the way! It's not always easy to maintain long distance friendships, but it's worth it!

We have had the same experience with Dale, and it's nice to hear other families deal with the same thing. I guess we think Dale will enjoy the same things we enjoy, but he needs to do it on his own time and desire to enjoy them! We'll try again next year, or the next year!

Oh Abby, that is funny. It would take the same sort of effort to get me to participate in an organized soccer game too. Go Jadon!!!
