Fire Station Field Trip

On Thursday Jadon's preschool class took a field trip to Sterling's main fire station.  They got to see and learn about all the different fire trucks for city and rural fires.  They saw where the hoses are washed and hung, the lounge and the lockers. One of the firefighters got suited up and even breathed through his oxygen mask, so that the kids would not be afraid of him in case of a real fire.   They even got to see a firefighter slide down the brass pole several times.

I like the idea of exposing them to a fireman all dressed up and breathing. I think I might even be afraid of one if I saw one, so I can just imagine how a child would feel!
