Memorial Day
In the morning we went to the parade in Dixon with Deb. Afterwards we stopped at the Veterans Memorial and Jadon got to see a tank and helicopter. In the afternoon we went to Larry and Cindy's house for a cookout. It was very fun and relaxing.
The Kids
Leah is now 3 months old. She is so cute! Jadon is her #1 fan, next to me of course. In fact, tonight when I was reading him bedtime stories, he had to get down off the bed and go give Leah a kiss goodnight 3 times. We still have to protect her from his affection quite a bit, but he is a wonderful big brother. Jadon loves to pray. At bedtime he keeps asking to "pray again". When we ask who he wants to pray for, he says, "Daddy, Mommy, Leah, Grandma, and Brecken." He asks to pray before naps, too. He's our little angel. Jadon enjoys going for walks and playing at the park. He climbs well and loves interacting with other kids.

Galena
On May 17th, Brian, Leah, and I went to Galena. We walked down Main Street and showed off our pride and joy, little Leah. She got lots of oohs and ahhs as Brian carried her in the frontpack. (Jadon spent the day with his Grandma Sels.) Then we went to Jeff and Charity's house for dinner. Greg, Sarah, and Julie were there as well. We celebrated Julie's 30th birthday with cake, homebrews, and cigars. A good time was had by all.

Mother's Day Weekend
On the road again... We spent Mother's Day weekend in the Quad Cities. Friday night we went to a Sels Family party at Aunt Di's house. Saturday we took Deb out to the Iowa Machine shed, and that afternoon we went to Dylan's first birthday party. We came home that night and got a good night sleep. Leah slept from 9:30pm to 6:30am, what a great Mother's Day present! Brian made the day very special and relaxing for me. We didn't do well taking pictures this weekend, but we got a few cute ones of the kids.
Brian's Trip to Georgia
Brian and Deb spent the first weekend in May visiting Dale, Nancy, and Avery. They spent most of the time working on Dale's new pool house, which is connected to his new garage. They did some fun things, too. Brian, Dale, and Avery ran a 5K. They also spent time with Nancy's family, went to a neighbor's Kentucky Derby party, and ate at Rhinehart's. Brian got to meet Avery for the first time (notice the painted toes) and had a great visit.

The Sandbox
Brian built Jadon the mother of all sandboxes. It's nice and big, has a cover that can be removed in pieces, and has a hole for a sand umbrella. We've had so many rainy days that Jadon hasn't gotten to play in it a whole lot yet, but we know it will get lots of use over the summer and for years to come. Good work, Brian!
